Warli Painting

Warli Painting is one of the Exotic Indian Art.

The word “ Warli” comes from “warla” which means a piece of land or a field Despite being in such close proximity of the largest metropolis in India, Warli tribesmen are still not urban. Warli Art was first discovered in the early seventies. While there are no records of the exact origins of this art, its roots may be traced to as early as the 10th century AD. Warli is the vivid expression of daily and social events of the Warli tribe of Maharashtra, used by them to decorate the walls of village houses.

These paintings do not depict mythological characters, but depict social life. Images of human beings and animals, along with scenes from daily life are created in a loose rhythmic pattern. Painted white on mud walls, they are pretty close to pre-historic cave paintings in execution and usually depict scenes of human figures engaged in activities like hunting, dancing, sowing ,harvesting, going out, drawing water from well, drying clothes or even dancing.

See this Image below :-

How to Draw it :-

Its very easy to draw.

Choose or think a some view that you wanted to show in ur painting.

The typical subjects on which Warli Art is done are :

Festival

Harvest

Folk story

Celebration

Temple Marriage

The major highlight is these all have people in group dipecting the social life.

Patterns of Warli Paintings :-

It basically consists of geometrical patterns

•Circle: representing the sun and the moon

•Triangle: triangle derived from mountains and pointed trees

•Square: indicating a sacred enclosure or a piece of land. So the central motive in each ritual painting is the square

These geometric figures are joined together to form beautiful patterns .Like two apex of triangles are joined together to form a human figure. In most of the Warli paintings they showed lot of trees as well while warli painting made. One can experiment with lots of background color like black, red, yellow, white etc.

See the above experiment with fabric...!!!!!

Warli paintings on paper have become very popular and are now sold all over India. Today, small paintings are done on cloth and paper but they look best on the walls or in the form of huge murals that bring out the vast and magical world of the Warlis. For the Warlis, tradition is still adhered to but at the same time new ideas have been allowed to seep in which helps them face new challenges from the market. See the below picture warli painting on paper.

Its and Old form of Indian Art. So, guies what are waiting for try this out.

Its One of the easy and simple art which anyone can do. Try it with your imagination and some more theams.

Now I am going to try it on Ceramic as well.

Its Raining, its raining....

After the past couple of rainy days, clearly the monsoon season has made it’s entry for the year 2011. You can still smell the wonderful aroma of newly water-soaked earth from the weekend’s rains.Me and My Bro clicked some of wonderful pics of this monsoon. 6th June 2011, was the day when Rains flows first time in the Mumbai. (i remembered date surely...lolz) monsoons of Mumbai occur like clockwork annually, exclusively from June through September, rarely taking a break once they start but this time Rains are different as they are taking most frequent breaks.

Good thing about Rains is  people get rid of this hot humid summer which was totally unbearable. Got relief now.

Whether it is heavy Rains or Humid summer Mumbaikars are always prefer to go work. So I clicked their pics on road when rain was flowing heavily. The most noticeable aspect for me the fresh, bright and clean green leaves on many trees around the Mumbai. It seems like they have had fresh bath after a very long time or should I say overdue bath, they washed all dirt on them that they had previously months during summer. They look so fresh and renewed.

This the Gulmohar tree in front of my house and its a proof of what I said above (just kidding...lolz). It loosed some of its leaves (see the pic below)but still looks so beautiful..isn't it??

I love to walk with Rains and dance with it. Aaahaaa what a lovely feeling yaa. I am waiting for that day, but I did enjoyed the very first Rains of Mumbai that time I was on my way to home from office. But i really do wanted a whole full day to enjoy this lovely season of year.

I am very much foodie person and I love to have Cup of Tea with some garama garam pakora's yumm....my mouth is watering now while writing..ha ha ha ....lolz. My Mom is wonderful cook and she knows what her children wants to eat in this monsoon and she cook these pakoras for us.
How can I forgot a Hot Adrak and Elayachi wali chaay....ouuhhhaaa...Best beverage go with pakoras during monsoon..
Water lodging is the main problem during this season in Mumbai and as usual all the promises given by our Govt. fails.

But we are Mumbaikars and its in our Blood to manage with all the circumstances and with happiness. As I a Mumbaikar I can proudly say we are enjoying this lovely season with accepting its drawbacks and we all are happy with it.

Reverse Glass Painting 2

yesterday I left the office early was not feeling well. Due to humid climate, I was feeling so irritated and I reached at bus stop near office for going towards station. GGosshhhh so humidity could not take it ya..But cant help...after half hour I got my bus...reached station., and had glass of mix fruit smoothee with ice-cream at Merwan's a bakery near Andheri station....Felt nice after having glass of fresh fruit smoothies. As Mumbai in summer gets hotter and hotter day by day. Took train towards Santacruz and reached home, my body was relaxed but mind is bit upset as there is nothing to do at home. I relaxed for a while and was thinking what to do which makes my mind cool and calm and after thinking for 20 minutes I got an Idea of painting, my all time favorite work, I took a glass which already painted by me I erased my previous painting from glass as I have only One piece of glass.

I draw Radha-krishna on a paper and trace it on my glass. I always prefer to do Reverse Glass Painting, because the advantages of Reverse Glass painting is u can use any kind of colors you want as I have limited glass colors I prefer to use some of Fabric colors and Acrylic colors.

Using different kinds of colors enhance your painting  especially in case of Reverse Glass Painting. You just need to have some patience to complete your painting as it took long to get try. But Believe me its worth it. See my painting below.

Although I am not mastered in glass painting....but I love to do it and I enjoy each moment of painting...there is much more scope of improvement for my painting specially in case of human faces and body parts ...but will surely work on it...

And Will be back soon with more paintings...

Life is too busy…Itani busy hai ki hum apane aap ko bhi bhool jaate hai………….

Aaahhh..!!! I am thinking about life I don’t know why but all of sudden life getting too busy as I am also busy in life, working for money and then shopping, dating with boyfriend, hanging out with friends & family, and having burgers of MC/D, KFC, Pizza’s etc. and any kind of food comes in a way when I feel hungry.
After all these whenever I get time I do try to fulfill my hobbies i.e. all kinds of paintings. I am trying to do it and day by day I am improving (I do feel so, yaaa).

I remembered one incidence happened long time ago (may be 4 to 5 months) when me and my friends go into a Mall for shopping and we were trying some dresses I went to trial room and try out the dress I like most simple cotton dress which having nice print but its not fitted on me and suddenly I realized that previously I could wear any medium size dress or T-shirt and now I required size Large and XL big change yaa.. Didn’t even realize when I become a fat and overweight, feel so bad. Next day I went to office and I start my Internet and check my BMI, and I found I was overweight. Feel so frustrated but later on I thank myself that I am not obese.

In today’s busy life most of us having cell phones with high technology and applications as we feel that we are in need of that and immediately  we brought that as I too brought one Android mobile phone. Cell phone is being our basic need after Food, Water and shelter… Most of us having 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler cars we do care for our things like in case of car (insurance, maintenance etc.) and in case of cell phones (charge cell phones regularly, paying bills or refilling etc.). In today’s life we do care about everything around and with us but we forgot to care about our self. We do have a time for refilling of mobile or refilling of petrol in car etc. time to time but we don’t have a time to eat good food regularly with proper intervals.

In morning so many people did not get time for breakfast as they have scheduled some task or some meetings in a office and as soon as wake up they rush for their office and once they feel hungry they go for junk food which is easily available in city like Mumbai. Why we are so careless about ourselves?. I was also like that only. But once I realize I planned everything my work, my food (diet) and my other miscellaneous things.

I am following some Rules for healthy life as follows:-

1. Enjoy a glass of water first thing in the morning.
If you haven’t got time for anything else in the morning, make time to drink a big glass of water. We lose a lot of oxygen through the night and to rejuvenate our cells, we need to supply them with water and oxygen. Drink a glass of water and within a week you’ll begin to feel less tired. I like the taste of water, but I know some people do not so if you’re one of them, squeeze some fresh lime into your water to give it taste and drink up. (Note; If you are feeling constipated have warm water) I was also having constipation problem but now after adopting proper health diet I resolved my problem.

2. Grab a few fresh fruits
After having water have fresh fruit any fruit available it gives you energy.

3. Good breakfast is must in the morning (Days 1st meal should be nutritious and healthy)
Have Good breakfast anything you like don’t count on calories but be sure about nutritional value.
Now a days there is new fad that high protein and less carbs diet etc. which will helps you up to the point you are strictly following this after that you will gain double weight. So don’t go for such rash diet it helps you for short term but harmful.

4. Exercise on the go.
Do exercise at least 3 days in a week for an hour (don’t push your body more for exercise do it properly and only for one hour not more than this). You do the exercise which you feel comfortable and able to do but brisk walk of 20 mints is necessary at least 2 days in a week.
If you work in an office, get up every 1 hour and walk in outside your cabin or cafeteria . If you have an office with stairs, run up and down the stairs every couple of hours. Get your blood flows and your muscles moving.

5. Drink herbal teas (Green Tea)
When at work or home, many people love to get a cup of tea or coffee. Decide that you’ll be more healthy and get a warm cup of herbal tea. The selection available today is absolutely massive, so you’re guaranteed to find one you enjoy. I like mandarin and ginseng tea as well as fennel seed tea.

6. Eat a handful of nuts.
Get your favorite selection of nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, etc.) and raisins and have a big handful of them at around 3pm. This has been shown to increase afternoon energy and productivity.

7. Say yes to fresh fruits.
One of the biggest and most exciting changes I made in my health about 7 months ago was when I said “yes” to having fresh fruits which helps me to feel energetic and not feel heavy.

8. Deep breathing.
When you’ve got time – at your desk, driving the car, cooking food – do some deep breathing. Inhale and count up to 5 seconds, hold it for a few seconds, and release slowly. Exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide is one of the best things we can do for our blood and cells.

9. Avoid Junk food
If your work mates are going and you want to go along, go ahead but don’t order the burger or French fries. Go for a nice salad or fruit instead. Or any other healthy meal that takes your fancy. Junk food is full of “empty calories” that do nothing for your body but put on extra unneeded and unhealthy fat. (Here not the question of calories but the nutrition value which such junk food dose not have at all)

Now I feel healthy and better than before, you will also feel good just try to follow above rules...life becomes more beautiful..

Good body and Good health keeps your mind happy.

What else we need, Money? but that is coming with our respective jobs so we will keep earning just need to take care of our self be healthy and be happy.

How to Do Reverse Glass Painting

Glass painting is One of the easiest art work. There are so many types of Glass Painting.

Here I am going to explain Reverse Glass painting Work. There are 5 steps to create Reverse Glass Painting.

1) First find out tracing paper and discover a reverse painting. ( reverse painting is created by painting a subject onto one side of a sheet of glass , after which it is viewed from the other side of the glass, or through the glass)

2) Make sure the glass you use is totally free of scratches before choosing it as a support to paint on. Always work in a relatively dust free area when painting on glass. Before start painting or doing outlines apply thinner to your glass so glass will properly clean and ready to paint.

3) It is essential to work in a careful way. This is because glass is a non-absorbent surface. Therefore, the paint will take longer to dry and can lift off easily. In addition, since you are working back-to-front and applying the finer details first, you need a lot of patience and extra concentration. Draw the paint with fine outliner which easily available in market. Once outliner dry apply colors carefully.

4) If possible, use good quality paint brushes when working on glass, particularly for applying finer details. (You can also use Fine Glass Liner which is easily available in any stationary shop) OR (You can use colors which are available in thin bottles having thin tip so you can directly apply the colors to your painting without using brushes)

5) Let the painting dry and keep the glass in dust free area. Wrap it in a newspaper.

After above five steps you will find a beautiful painting, I have made one reverse glass painting as follows:

Nice naa... You can also paint it..its easy..
Try this..
Glass Painting is good craft work...
Warnings :- Always store glass somewhere safe where there are no risks for small children or pets.
I will be back with new paintings soon..
